<International Circulation>: CCT and CIT are both well known interventional conferences in the Asia-Pacific region. How can we increase cooperation between the two organizations and which fields need more exchange of information?
Prof. Kyo: I will attend CIT and CCT as a group will have a session during the CIT. During my time in Beijing I would like to meet with officials from the CIT meeting to see how we can cooperate further. In the future， we can collaborate on studies and clinical trials. Many Chinese doctors can not come to Japan so I hope that we can collaborate more. However， at the present time there are no specific plans.
<International Circulation>: Most important clinical trials that are used as references for PCI guidelines were conducted in western countries and those findings may not be applicable to the East Asian populations. Are there any plans to cooperate on large scale clinical trials or develop new guidelines?
Prof. Kyo: A lot of data has originated from Europe or the USA and we need more data from Asia. For the new drug-eluting stents we have no data from Asia. We do no know which drug or kind of drug-eluting stent is superior or what the proper dose is in Asians. Therefore， if we have a chance to collaborate it would be helpful to generate some new ideas.
<International Circulation>: MDCT has a high radiation dose. Also， radiation dose during PCI for CTO is quite high. Therefore， we would like to know how to avoid radiation injuries for patients with CTO?
Prof. Kyo: After MDCT became available we usually use MDCT before conducting a CTO procedure. It can give us more information on the characteristics of the CTO lesion such as hardness or the course of the vessel. As a result， it can help the operator to shorten the procedure. Thus， if you can shorten the procedure time you can lessen the radiation exposure.
